Are you an insured tree removal company?

Yes we are. BUT… we are proudly claim free.

Our team will always treat your property with respect and we can prove it through the lovely words of our clients Kirsty Burke:

“We enjoy our trees and our garden and were looking for someone to prune the trees who would be sympathetic to our needs.Everyone we have had come in to do this work in the past has just butchered our trees and left the garden a mess, so we were exceptionally happy, not a plant or pot plant disturbed, the place left tidy and clean. If you are after people who know what they are doing AND care about what they are doing – I would recommend Oasis Tree Management.”

While it is our aim to always have jobs go 100% to plan, you can never be too careful when it comes to tree removal. Sometimes trees have a mind of their own and a gust of wind in the wrong direction can cause havoc for an arborist!

This is why we have the insurance, to protect us if anything were to happen to anything on your property. We believe it is a must!

What is Protected Vegetation?

Protected Vegetation in Brisbane can be broken into four categories:

Council vegetation
Waterway vegetation
Significant urban vegetation
Significant native vegetation

These categories of vegetation are protected under Brisbane City Council’s Natural Assets Local Law 2003
Basically there are trees and plants that come under this law as protected species due to various reasons.

This means that you cannot prune or remove these trees without council approval. To apply for a permit or see if a tree is protected on your property please visit the council website.

If you would like assistance to apply for council approval we can help you. Just phone us! 07 5546 3958

Does Council need to approve my tree removal?

Your tree may be protected under council legislation. Your property may have protected vegetation if it:

  • is located near or in the Brisbane River or a waterway corridor
  • is located in a bushland area or rural area
  • contains large trees even in an urban area
  • has heritage values.

You should check with Council if this applies to your property by phoning 07 3403 8888. If you require assistance we can help you with our city council liaison service.

What is the difference between an arborist and a tree lopper?

An arborist is a professional in the practice of arboriculture.

Arborist’s are qualified in tree removal and maintenance and focus on the health and safety of their tree.

Arborists need to be trained through a registered training organisation that provides nationally recognised qualifications. Our director Bruce Herlihy has trained through training for trees.

Tree Loppers provide the same services as Arborists (tree removal, pruning etc). However they have not undertaken professional training, therefore are not skilled in correct pruning methods or tree removal to Australian standards.

The general consensus of a tree lopper is that they remove trees without any concern for the health and wellbeing or proper standards.

Is tree removal safe?
Tree removal can be a dangerous process. Even qualified and experienced arborists can be faced with danger when removing a tree for numerous reasons.

Variables such as weather, the trees health or equipment malfunctions can all contribute to the danger of tree removal.

The best practice is to ensure that you consider all variables before commencing tree removal. Arborists should practice safe work methods, equipment should be regularly maintained and replaced as needed.

At Oasis Tree Management, we provide safe tree removal for our clients and are insured for 20 million dollars to protect your property in case of emergency.

*Please note we are proudly claim free*

Is tree removal expensive?
There is no easy answer to this question.

Yes, tree removal can be expensive if it is a complex job that requires specialised work. Tree removal can also be very reasonable if the job is simple and straight forward.

Oasis tree removal services range from $300 to $3000 for one tree, so as you can see it is impossible to give an accurate answer without assessing a job.

The tree removal industry is not regulated therefore prices can differ A LOT. You may receive a quote for $500 and $1500 from two different companies, for the same job!

It all depends on whether a company has qualified arborists, is insured and provides an excellent service as opposed to the opposite.

We recommend you receive 3 quotes for your tree removal needs, this should give you a accurate idea on what the job should cost.

To arrange a quote – please phone Kate on 07 5546 3958

What is stump grinding?
When you remove a tree from your property the stump will be left and can potentially be a dangerous object to have in your yard. If left, the stump will be subject to disease, rotting and home to pests such as white ants and termites.

Stump grinding is the method used to remove stumps from your property after a tree has been removed.
You should get the stump removed by a skilled stump grinder to ensure the stump is removed properly and safely.

We provide stump grinding services for Brisbane and Logan clients. We can provide quotes over the phone so contact us on 5546 3958 or 0418 734 101.

Can you provide a quote for tree removal over the phone?
We cannot provide you with a tree removal quote over the phone. An Oasis Specialist will need to preform an onsite tree inspection.

There are many factors that will contribute to the price of removing a tree on your property:

Site Access and drop area
Complexity of removal
Size of tree
Health of tree
Personal requirements

To be able to give you an accurate and fair tree removal quote, we need to assess all variables onsite and preferably speak with you in person (however we understand this isn’t always possible).

We also do not like to quote tree removal via photos as we cannot get the full picture of the work area and the health of the tree.

We will work in with you to find the most suitable time to visit your property and assess the tree, even if this means on a Sunday!

To arrange for an onsite inspection please phone Bruce on 0418 734 101.
